My life revolves around dogs, mostly. I volunteer at Fuzzy Friends Rescue, the Humane Society of Central Texas, and Akita Rescue of Northwestern PA. I also head the Meals on Wheels for Pets project that gathers donated toys, treats and other items to make and give goodie bags to Meals on Wheels customers that have pets.
I received my ABCDT certification from Animal Behavior College. I am a member of the Pet Professionals Guild, which is a force-free organization. I am certified by the American Kennel Club to teach and test for Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. I am also a certified Dog Bite Prevention Educator and Pet Dog Ambassador Assessor. I hold certificates in Pet First Aid and Dog Aggression. I believe in learning as much as I can to help my clients the best I can.
In addition to dog training, I have a day job where I am the Sales Administrative Assistant for Versalift, a company that designs and builds aerial lifts for bucket trucks. When I have time, I am involved in a local theater; the Brazos Theatre. I help there doing everything from concessions, to being stage manager to acting in murder mysteries and plays.
I am Kim Jukes, owner and certified dog trainer at People & Pups, LLC. I live in Waco, Texas with my husband, Scott and our five dogs, Heather (Am. Staff, Great Dane mix), Joy (Boston Terrier, Chihuahua mix), Trinny (Lab, Great Pyrenees mix), Loki (Boxer mix) and Ellie (Chihuahua). Our sweet Emmy (Chihuahua mix) and Hayley (Jack Russell Terrier) crossed the rainbow bridge and are some of the inspirations for my becoming a dog trainer.
